During this lab we were shown how to operate and read/understand the new ultrasound machine St.Lukes acquired. Greg Yeager and Mrs. Harnish came in and explained the machines function and purpose. The ultrasound machine works through soundwaves that can create an image of tissue and space through sound reflections and vibrations. The ultrasound machine will not expose a patient to any unhealthy radiation that might be obtained through a CT scan.
In this lab, volunteers where able to operate the machine as well as use the machine. You could see the various tissues and fluids within the body.
