yesterday we went to life south after our blood drive to see what they do with the blood.
they showed us their facility
they showed us how they determine what blood type you have with clotting liquids
they show us where they take blood.
they then have to send it back to their back where it is taken care of and shipped out
They talked about how they occasionally have to wake up at the earliest hours of the mornings to answer calls from hospitals asking for emergency imports of blood. They have to wake up and send it to whoever is in emergency need of blood.
