DAY ONE trauma week

On the first day of trauma week, we were introduced the scenario and visual that we will be examining and evaluating throughout the whole week. It took place on the football field and referenced a scenario regarding a 16/17 year old male that suffered an athletic injury. On the field, it can be assessed as an open tib/fib fracture with risk of infection. However, when the trainers arrive on the field they assess every other part of the patient before the obvious injury. The most important aspect of ensuring the players safety is their head and consciousness.
