During my trip to the coast guard center, we were briefed on the multiple duties and fields inside the complex branch. There are various medical fields that are incorporated into the coast guard to insure the complete clearance and security of the pilots. They must have a perfect eye exam, cleared physical, dentistry work, cardiac tests, and lung tests.
After exploring the different fields and seeing the individual offices, we proceeded to the simulation labs. We were each individually given the opportunity to attempt a flight on the simulation helicopter that pilots in training must experience/practice on.
